Welcome to Birchview Kennel

At Birchview Kennel, our puppies are bred for temperament, health, and conformation giving them the foundation they need to make them outstanding working dogs and family pets. The combination of ancestors of both the sire and the dam is carefully evaluated with the goal of improving each subsequent generation.

The dogs we use in breeding have pedigrees that possess great depth of health clearances that include a consideration of each parent and grandparent's own littermates. That means an even stronger health and temperament outcome for a puppy. All of the dogs I use for breeding have either a preliminary or permanent OFA clearance for hip dysplasia and have yearly eye exams by a Certified Canine Ophthamologist.

In addition to genetics, the most important factors in the health of a dog will be the care it receives both as a puppy and as an adult. Birchview mini aussie puppies are raised in the house where they are well socialized with children, other dogs and cats, and a variety of adults. The puppies will have started with housebreaking, crate training, and car rides before going to their new homes.

To maintain the best health for our Mini Aussies, we prescribe to a limited vaccination protocol as well as feeding a natural diet. Every effort is made to insure each puppy will be destined for a long, happy, and healthy life.

Miniature Australian Shepherds

Mostl of our breeding dogs are conformation champions and most have passed the Canine Good Citizen test. All have had their eyes cleared by an ophthalmologist to detect eye problems and are registered with the Canine Eye Registration Foundation (CERF). They have had their hips x-rayed and rated by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA).

Our selective breeding program produces working, show and companion quality puppies in all colors. We provide a guarantee against congenital defects, and a CERF examination at seven weeks. Our pups are registered with either the North American Miniature Australian Shepherd Club of the USA (NAMASCUSA) or the Miniature Australian Shepherd Club of America (MASCA).

Spotlight Dog of the Month

This months spotlight dog is looks a lot like last months spotlight dog. I'd like to introduce Marley loved by Terri and Mike.

Marly is seen here after passing his herding instinct test. He has also finished his beginning obedience and will soon start agility. Marley is full of spunk and just loves his frisbee.
